John Hampden Grammar School

Duke of Edinburgh Award

This week we have received the school’s annual summary from The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. In 2017/18 the DofE participants of JHGS completed 858 hours of learning a new skill, 1053 hours of physical activity and 741 hours of volunteering in the local community. The social value of these volunteering hours is £3,001.05. This totals an impressive 2652 hours that JHGS students have committed to their DofE Award over the past year and this year’s hours are almost double those from last year.

In 2017/18, 128 JHGS students have started their DofE Award, an increase of 79 compared to 2016/17. JHGS has one of the highest number of Awards started when compared to other schools in Bucks and the highest achievement rate of any school in Bucks. Well done to all students involved with the scheme and keep up the good work!
