Flackwell Heath Remembers
Posted on November 21st 2018
On Sunday November 11th Luca, Robbie, Joel and Greg (Y13) took part in the Flackwell Heath parade and Remembrance Memorial service. Dressed as WW1 servicemen and a Boy Scout they took part in the parade and stood at the four corners of the war memorial, replicating the service that took place in 1921 to open the memorial.
In the evening at the Community Centre, they each gave a 5 minute talk about different aspects of the war embodying one of the soldiers from Flackwell Heath who gave their life. At 18:45, Alex played the last post in the Jubilee Gardens outside the Community Centre, and Luca read the ‘Cry for Peace around the World’ before a beacon was lit at 19:00.
