John Hampden Grammar School

Sixth Form

Most students stay on from Year 11 into the Sixth Form and are joined by some external candidates. The results obtained by the end of Year 13 are exceptional. Value added figures (progress from GCSE) are also some of the highest amongst Buckinghamshire grammar schools.

Students are also expected to take an active role in the life of the School and are usually seen as role models for the younger students. To find out more, please read the Sixth Form prospectus.

The Sixth Form Prospectus for 2021 entry will be available in October 2020 and will be posted on the website.

Unfortunately it is unlikely that we will be able to hold a Sixth Form Open Evening in school this term due to the current circumstances relating to Covid-19.  However, we aim to make available a series of videos during week commencing 16 November when our Open Evening was scheduled to take place, to view at your leisure.  These will include presentations by Miss Hartley, Headteacher, and Miss Burrow, Assistant Head - Director of Sixth Form, which will cover information about our Sixth Form and about the application process.

In addition there will be departmental presentations so that applicants can learn more about the A-levels we offer in order to help with their choices.  The deadline for applications will be at the end of November (exact date to be confirmed).

We hope that later in the year we will be able to welcome applicants to the school to have a look around, ask questions about the Sixth Form and get a feel for what John Hampden has to offer.
