John Hampden Grammar School

Outdoor Education

We run a comprehensive outdoor education programme including regular trips to Arete Outdoor Centre in Snowdonia. We also offer Duke of Edinburgh Bronze for pupils in year 10 and hope to offer the Gold and Silver Awards in 2015/16. We work with Amphibia to run a climbing club (they also run the year 7 induction programme). Finally each year with Wilderness Expertise we run an overseas expedition; in previous years we visited Zambia, Albania, Laos, Slovakia and Peru. In 2015/16 there will be expeditions to Croatia and Iceland. Read more about our expedition programme here.
