Overview of Career activities for each Key stage during the school year:-

Key Stage 3

Year 7

 

·         Career lessons - PSD using Ignite programme

·         Access to software via JHGS web site and Google Classroom, Higher Ideas, Job Explorer Database,  Eclipse, Fast Tomato

·         Opportunity to attend a varied programme of careers talks on a monthly basis

·         Varied programme of school trips to commercial and educational establishments support career research

·         Opportunity to compete in Rotary Technology tournament

·         Opportunity to participate in an team building residential activity soon after starting at JHGS

·         Access to a comprehensive career library available in the LRC

·         Access to Google classroom – KS3 Careers – where current opportunities /events are advertised

·         Labour Marketing information available via Eclipse and Google classroom

·         Career information provided on the student/parent bulletin on a regular basis

Year 8

·         All students participate in the I-PAC scheme (Interview Preparation and Careers) which includes the preparation of a personal statement and a formal interview from local employer
