Pathway presentations take place on a regular basis and cover specific careers and HE information.  Talks are available to all students, students sign up for these during form time or with the Careers co-ordinator in the LRC

Employer engagement school visits and Work Experience

All students have the opportunity to participate in a varied programme of activities to enhance their leadership and ‘soft skills’ the following are a selection of activities offered during the academic year:-

Work Experience

            All students in Year 12 have the opportunity to participate in Work Experience in June –

this provides Students with first-hand experience of either a career or degree subject they are considering after Year 13 and  to assist their long term pathway plans

 

Labour Market Intelligence/information

 

Bucks Thames Valley LEP has recently published a labour market report which is an invaluable source of local information:  this can be found at:-

 Without access to Labour Market Information students, parents and teachers are unable to predict what changes may happen, what skills young people need to develop or know what sectors are growing or declining and above all how do you plan for an ever changing job market? 

In addition Labour marketing Intelligence/information for specific jobs can be found using Eclipse software.

 

 

Student Individual advice and guidance

Connexions/Adviza – students in KS4 & KS5 have the opportunity for an individual 1 hour appointment with a Connexions advisor

 

Morrisby – students can participate in the Morrisby Profiling assessment, this can be arranged via the school’s career coordinator.

Fast Tomato – is a simplified ‘Morrisby’ and is available to students via Google Classroom, Careers - Students take a short psychometric questionnaire which gauges their interests, attitudes and motivations.

Job Explorer Database - students complete Suits me Quiz, ‘Big Quiz’ for ideas about future career paths.

GCSE/A Level Options - To assist students in Year 9 & Year 11 with their GCSE/A Level option choices there are information evenings  which students and parents can attend:-
