Modern Foreign Languages
The main aim of the Modern Foreign Languages department is to develop an understanding and love for languages and their associated cultures, as well as how studying a foreign language can be both enriching and rewarding. This aim is achieved through carefully planned and engaging lessons that encourage pupils to communicate in the foreign language and become increasingly inquisitive about the use of structures and foreign cultures. Each year students continue with the study of Modern Foreign Languages at A Level with many of those including language study as part of their degree course further enhancing future employment opportunities. Beyond the classroom, pupils can become involved with many national competitions as well as take part in residential trips in Europe.
