Computing #BeMore

The Computing department at John Hampden Grammar School prides itself on being a forward-thinking department with computing at its core.  Our outstanding provision ensures that students are given a modern and vibrant learning environment.  Students are taught the principles of computing, how digital systems work and how to put this knowledge to use through programming.  They are encouraged to experiment with software and develop new skills.  Our extra-curricular provision enables to pursue their areas of interest whether that is robotics or venturing into the field of cybersecurity.

Students develop their programming skills using a variety of media and get to showcase their skills and launch successful projects.

Our students venture further than the scope of the curriculum and develop projects such as their own esports league. This teaches them skills beyond the classroom such as leadership, critical thinking and team work.

Lessons give our students opportunities to gain new skills using exceptional facilities and prepares them for exciting developments in our ever-evolving subject area.

Our rich curriculum coupled with a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities gives our students and clear pathway from KS3 to KS5. All students have the opportunity to study aspects of Computer Science at sufficient depth to allow them to progress to higher levels of study or specific expertise.
