The National Mathematics & Physics (NMAP) SCITT is England’s only school centred provider of subject specific teacher training in Mathematics and Physics with an enhanced focus on subject knowledge and pedagogy.  The NMAP SCITT Programme was developed and is delivered by expert practicing teachers in collaboration with the subject associations.   The SCITT’s most recent Ofsted inspection highlights how well we know our trainees as individuals and support them; Ofsted also commented about our well-structured, cohesive and ambitious curriculum. Please click here for more information.

Science Technician Assistant (Gap Year)

We are recruiting a Gap Year Science Technician Assistant to support our thriving Science Department.  The  Technician Assistant will co-ordinate the use of practical resources and facilities and provide assistance and advice in the practical needs of the curriculum, including liaising with teaching staff and technical staff outside the department.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic department in a successful oversubscribed selective school for boys. You will need to have an A level in one or more science subjects.

Contract: One Year Fixed Term Contract from September 2024 to July 2025

Hours: 37 hours - 8.30am – 4.30pm on Monday to Thursday, and 8.30am - 4pm on Friday. 39 weeks per year (term time plus 5 INSET days). We are happy to accept applications from candidates looking for either a full time or part time role, please indicate your preference clearly on the application form.

Salary: Bucks Pay Range 1 - £23,297 - £24,223 per annum. Actual Pro Rata Salary £19,982 - £20,776 pa for 37 hours per week and 39 working weeks per annum.
