This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful department at John Hampden Grammar School. You will provide technical support to both teaching staff and students through the preparation of tools, equipment and materials for lessons. Training will be provided when you start in September.
Ideally you will have completed A level Design Technology so you are familiar with DT workshops, but this isn’t essential. You may have developed the skills to work across a variety of disciplines e.g. woodwork, metal, food, ICT, CAD/CAM and Food Tech and have some knowledge of health and safety practices, though we will provide relevant training for the right candidate. More importantly, you will be a real team player with the ability to be flexible to department requests for support, and be highly organised with the ability to prioritise your work in this busy role.
Contract: One Year Fixed Term Contract from September 2025 to July 2026
Hours: 37 hours - 8.30am – 4.30pm on Monday to Thursday, and 8.30am - 4pm on Friday. 39 weeks per year (term time plus 5 INSET days).
Salary: £23,996 to £24,950 FTE (actual salary pro rata salary £20,350 to £21,159 per annum)

We are recruiting a Gap Year Science Technician to support our thriving Science Department. The Technician will co-ordinate the use of practical resources and facilities and provide assistance and advice in the practical needs of the curriculum, including liaising with teaching staff and technical staff outside the department.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Art Technician to join the creative and thriving John Hampden Art Department. Our aim is to provide our students with a high-quality and diverse curriculum in order to foster a lifelong love of art. The Art Technician plays an important role in assisting the technical work of the department through supporting students and teaching staff.

Hours: 20 hours per week - 9.00am – 1.00pm, 5 days per week, term time only plus staff INSET days (39 weeks per year). We may be able to offer some flexibility with days/hours. Please state your preferred working pattern on your application form.
Salary: Bucks Pay Range 3, currently £28,129 to £30,174 FTE (actual salary for 20 hours per week, 39 weeks p.a. is in the range £12,895 to £13,832)
